We are looking for a technology specialist to work as part of an Agile development team to test technology solutions related to new products and existing product enhancements. The successful candidate will undertake testing in a way which maximises business efficiency and productivity and ensures that enhancements can be implemented without introducing errors to the production system.   
 

Key Responsibilities
Working alongside our experienced team of industry experts, you will be responsible for:
  • Undertaking system testing as part of an Agile Scrum development process, evaluating and testing acceptance criteria to ensure that all changes to external systems are fully tested prior to release.
  • Accountability for data manipulation to facilitate testing the acceptance criteria.
  • Working closely with the Technology team to ensure that user stories are tested in an efficient manner and help to continuously improve the process.
  • Building and maintaining an expert knowledge of the functionality within Cifas’ external Technology solutions. 
  • Using initiative, experience and analytical thinking, identify any gaps in testing and add additional acceptance criteria where required.
  • Collaborating with the solutions design team to ensure that acceptance criteria is understood and solutions can be thoroughly tested before release.
  • Working with the development team, Systems Analyst and Technology Business Partner, ensure that testing is kept on-track and that sufficient items are ready for deployment.
  • Liaising with the development team and Technology Business Partner to explain and resolve bugs or discrepancies in the acceptance criteria outcomes.
  • Using software packages to operate API testing.
  • Helping to establish, run and maintain fully automated testing across all aspects of the Agile development practice, including API and web UI testing.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A degree level education or equivalent and/or relevant previous work experience.
  • Proven experience of working in an Agile development environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of how to manipulate data and prepare a test environment in line with acceptance criteria.
  • Experience of working with Given-When-Then syntax for acceptance criteria.
  • Knowledge and experience of conducting testing within a development environment.
  • A good technical understanding of Agile development
  • Ability to understand the functionality within Cifas’ systems and quickly develop an expert knowledge.
  • Aptitude in using SQL to interrogate the Cifas databases to determine acceptance criteria outcomes.
  • Experience using API software such as ReadyAPI and Postman, both for testing externally facing APIs and building packages of test data for acceptance criteria.
  • Collaboration skills and the ability to work as part of a team, to support other areas when needed, draw on knowledge and experience to help deliver an excellent Agile development process.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain concepts to people at differing technical levels and adjust the style to the audience.
  • Proven problem-solving and innovation skills, with the ability to quickly identify issues and deliver solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate across third party suppliers as well as teams in the business.
  • Experience of using automated web-UI testing packages, such as Selenium WebDriver or Cypress, is highly desirable.
