About the Opportunity

We are hiring a Senior Software Engineer to join our small team building an exciting new product that will be at the forefront of data warehouse tooling. You’ll bring your expertise in launching services at scale and working on products on the critical path of data warehouse queries. You’ll be at the forefront of innovation in a fast-moving startup, using your skills building scalable, resilient, critical services to build cutting-edge products in the field of query optimization.

You Will

  • Partner with product and work directly with customers to deeply understand customer needs with regards to query performance tuning and query cost optimization
  • Create tightly-scoped greenfield products and features, designed for fast iteration based on customer feedback
  • Build scalable, reliable, fault-tolerant systems on the critical path for customers
  • Bring your expertise with data warehouse integrations and scalable systems to mentor and multiply the team

You Have

  • Previous startup experience
  • Previous experience working on a product in the critical path for data warehouse queries
  • Skilled in partnering with product to build new products and features from the ground up
  • Significant experience with application performance tooling including tracing, root causing, and proactive monitoring
  • Skilled in troubleshooting complex production bugs, resolving them quickly, and developing ways to improve system stability in the future
  • Experienced in architecting and developing fault-tolerant solutions at massive scale for backend applications on cloud platforms
  • Experienced in developing and maintaining automated tests, and comfortable working with modern CI/CD tools
  • Strong asynchronous communication skills
  • Experience with databases, data warehouses, and big data processing tools
  • Comfortable working with large datasets from different database backends using SQL
  • Comfortable working with SaaS platforms
  • Background in developing custom proxies
  • Experience with CDW (Cloud Data Warehouse) such as Snowflake, DataBricks, BigQuery or RedShift
  • Strong desire to mentor others in engineering best practices, and lead their team in continuous improvement
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, where responding to customer feedback quickly and product pivots are common

  • Experience building a product on the critical path of queries for data warehouses
