What is PerchPeek?

Have you ever relocated before? Did you manage to do it without eye rolling or swearing? Or if you haven’t ever relocated, how do you feel about the prospect of figuring it all out on your own? Finding a place to stay, shipping your stuff, organising utilities and new bank accounts…the list of things to organise goes on and on. No matter where in the world you go, relocating is a complicated and messy process. PerchPeek was conceived to change that.

Our aim is to guide people through every stage of their relocation with a delightful combination of tech, relocation coaching, content & partnerships, which work together to remove the stress and make moving simpler and faster.

The Role

Responsibilities

Whilst every role in a startup has a degree of flexibility over time, here is what we see as the role’s main responsibilities: 

  • Own the end-to-end design process, crafting visually delightful interfaces optimised for usability.
  • Translate complex enterprise product requirements into intuitive, user-friendly designs that solve real-world problems.
  • Create wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups to articulate and refine design concepts.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver pixel-perfect implementation, ensuring designs maintain quality, consistency, and usability standards.
  • Stay ahead of emerging design trends, tools, and best practices, bringing fresh, innovative ideas to the table.
  • Present design concepts and rationale to stakeholders, effectively communicating your decisions and aligning with company objectives.
  • Maintain, refine, and scale our design systems to ensure visual and functional consistency across all products and platforms.

Requirements

The type of person we think will be awesome at this will likely have the following range of qualities and experience:

  • Exceptional visual design skills, with a keen eye for detail, colour, typography, and layout, crafting interfaces that are both highly functional and visually delightful.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role, designing and delivering impactful user experiences for complex software products. Experience in B2B or enterprise software is strongly preferred.
  • A proven self-starter with a strong sense of ownership, a bias for action, and the ability to thrive in ambiguous environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver outstanding results with minimal guidance or supervision.
  • Proven track record of end-to-end design excellence, from user research and UX writing to wireframing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing.
  • Deep understanding of app development processes and experience collaborating closely with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to bring designs to life.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Figma and a strong command of modern design tools and workflows.

We’re especially interested in candidates with the below skills or qualifications:

  • A proactive attitude, flexible in their approach to problem-solving, and an open, inquisitive mindset.
  • The ability to balance business needs with delivering the best user experience possible.
  • Experience creating and expanding design systems and brand identity.

Pay & Benefits
Salary

The target annual salary for this position ranges from £50,000 to £70,000, however individual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, location and some role-dependent factors. We’ll be happy to discuss this during the interview process.

We are aiming to respond to all applications received in December by 6 January 2025, with the goal of scheduling interviews starting the week of 13 January 2025. If we seem well-matched, you’ll be invited for an initial screening with one of the PerchPeek team where we’ll align on timeline, compensation, and get to know each other a bit better! Then, we’ll run a three-stage interview process with different members of our team: Stages 1 and 2 will be focused on experience, skills, and culture alignment. Stage 3 will include a “take-home” case study and a final round-table interview. All interviews will take place via video call.
