Program Manager – Curql Accelerate Powered by gener8tor

Location: Remote, US-Based

Salary: $55,000 – $65,000

Description

Are you ready to invest in the best and brightest entrepreneurs? Do you get excited about supporting startups so they can bring new innovations to life? Are you committed to providing opportunities across race, place and gender? If so, this position is for you.

gener8tor is a nationally recognized startup accelerator as well as entrepreneurial support organization. The Program Manager will support Curql Accelerate, a program powered by gener8tor, which recruits and selects companies for $100K investment, and executes programming, startup coaching and network building and introductions for two accelerator programs per year of five companies each. Each program is a 12-week hybrid program that includes three weeks on-site at credit unions across the country.

As a member of the gener8tor team you will be an essential part of our overall international platform. The full gener8tor platform connects startup founders, musicians, artists, investors, universities and corporations and includes pre-accelerators, accelerators, corporate programming, conferences and fellowships. Your support as our Curql Accelerate PM will impact startups through working specifically with startup founders in collaboration with a network of mentors and investors as well as municipal and corporate partners.

Success for a PM looks like owning all aspects of the program logistics and operations, including recruiting, interviewing, and selecting the best and brightest founders while coordinating weekly program events such as startup meetings, cohort community-building events, mentor networking events and leading planning of the end-of-program showcase event. You will have ownership over the program logistics and will report to the program’s Managing Director while collaborating across the organization with gener8tor’s centralized support teams.

Responsibilities

  • In partnership with the Managing Director, manage logistics and ensure the operational success of all aspects of Curql Accelerate.
  • Recruit startup applicants and, in collaboration with Curql, assist with documentation and the due diligence and selection process for one to two gener8tor Investment Accelerator cohorts annually.
  • Assist the Managing Director in finding and developing relationships with mentors, investors, credit union executives and other industry/ecosystem partners who can help support the programs and participating companies.
  • Assist the Managing Director in the planning and facilitation of three to four Curql Accelerate on-site visits (week-long small group conferences between credit union LPs, Curql partners and participating companies).
  • Assist the Managing Director in relationship management with the Curql partners.
  • Track metrics for reporting to gener8tor, Curql and external program partners.
  • Actively participate in all aspects of the gener8tor accelerator program including recruitment, team meetings, mentor swarms, investor swarms, lunch & learns and on-site credit union visits
  • Collaborate with gener8tor staff to develop new strategies, assess program strengths, improve program processes and ensure the program is following best practices as outlined by gener8tor.
  • Continuously support gener8tor and Curql Accelerate alumni.
  • Represent gener8tor in the community which includes actively participating in the startup
ecosystem by attending events and building relationships.
  • Collaborate with other members of the gener8tor team to support our national programs.
  • Be the #1 cheerleader for the startup ecosystems and the startups and entrepreneurs we work with.

Requirements

  • Experience with operations, logistics, program/project management and/or documentation is required. Past experience in supporting an accelerator, incubator or venture fund recommended.
  • Experience with or strong interest in event planning.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a self-starter. Experience as a program/project manager, in venture capital or at a community bank/credit union recommended.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% and ability to work some nights and weekends.
  • Collaborative, team-based mindset. You will be working closely with other Program Managers, Managing Directors, founders, external program partners, and ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, highly independent environment and juggle multiple ongoing projects, responsibilities and external relationships.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. A willingness to intensively and rapidly dive deeper into the startup, strategic investment, and credit union communities even if already familiar.
  • The ability to see genius in every community. A commitment to equity across race, place and gender.

At gener8tor we…

  • See genius in every community. Across race, place and gender, we believe the company has a chance to accomplish a generational challenge in bridging genius with opportunity.
  • Never self-defeat and have a “play to win” mentality. We revolve everything we do around helping the entrepreneurs in our programs.
  • Are curious. We work hard to find hidden gems others overlook.
  • Believe no job is beneath us. We wipe down the tables and load up the U-Hauls with enthusiasm and work as a team to get $#!^ done!
  • Strive for “that guy emailed me.” We share a commitment to take a bottom-up approach to building strong, personal, 1-1 relationships. We believe that the best way to quality is through quantity.
