The Opportunity

DAT is looking for a Network Engineer to join our Technical Operations team. This position can be based in Denver, CO; Beaverton, OR; or remotely

This team is responsible for infrastructure design and implementation functions, and support for all of DATs corporate and revenue generating environments.  In this role, you will manage networks and supporting network hardware with a focus on developing best practice IT standards, process compliance, deliver on requested projects, as well as audit compliance.  The position will be demanding and requires a strong engineering background with effective collaboration skills to help the team to succeed.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • Responsible for design, planning, deployment, monitoring and maintenance of assigned projects.
  • Serve as subject matter expert on network-related projects and responsible for project-related deliverables.
  • Provides high-level support to employees and technical teams relative to networking technology and participates in on-call rotation.
  • Analyze network topologies to determine potential issues and makes suggestions for recommended changes.
  • Perform installations, configurations, and upgrades on networking and associated equipment as part of migrations and infrastructure modernization as needed.
  • May perform other job duties as assigned.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years of network engineering
  • Must have designed, implemented, or operated Cisco and Juniper network hardware, Checkpoint firewalls and F5 Load Balancers.
  • Strong IP networking fundamentals and experience such as TCP/IP, BGP, IS-IS, VxLAN.
  • Network automation skills using DevOps and CI/CD pipeline practices
  • Demonstrated experience automating and managing networks
  • Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code(IaC): Ansible, Terraform, AWS Cloud Formation, etc.
  • Experience with F5 LTM and GTM
  • Experience managing co-located infrastructure
  • Experience with BGP Peering relationship management

What would be nice for you to have:

  • Prior or current relevant certifications in the fields of network, telecom, or systems (CCNP, CCDP, CCIE).
  • Comprehensive practice/hands-on experience with following routing protocols/technologies: VRF/VRF-Lite, BGP (eBGP, iBGP, MP-BGP), EIGRP, OSPF
  • Extensive experience configuring and managing complex multiple routing protocols and redistribution mechanisms.
  • Experience interacting with MP-BGP route-reflectors, MPLS, L3VPN, L2VPN, (TE) traffic engineering tunnels, IPSEC, DMVPN.
  • Experience in circuit design, carrier collaboration, and establishment of dynamic routing with upstream carriers.
  • Experience with Python and Ansible.
  • Experience with automation and IaaS.
  • Proficient in network packet captures and application analysis with Wireshark, Observer, etc.
  • Comprehensive experience with Life Cycle Management in Enterprise Environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

For Colorado-based candidates, in compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the minimum salary for this role is $120,000.00 + benefits. The maximum compensation for this role can vary significantly depending on your job-related skills and experience. DAT considers factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education and training, core skills, internal equity, and market and business elements when extending an offer.
