Pedago is looking for a creative Instructional Writer to join our Instructional Design team. You will author educational content using a fun, creative writing approach while incorporating critical thinking and design considerations.

In this role, you will transform already drafted, sometimes dry content into clever, engaging educational lessons that are easily understood and digested for use in the real world.  You will draft lessons in our e-learning platform using a storytelling approach while sprinkling humor and wit into the content.  Successful writers are creative, self-motivated lifelong learners who are detail-oriented, conscientious, and manage their time well to hit their deadlines.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate closely with instructional designers and SMEs to thoroughly understand the provided course content. 
  • Creatively transform outlined content into short, witty, bite-sized lessons.
  • Utilize all elements of Quantic’s style and tone guide, including appropriate interactions, to keep students engaged while learning for retention.
  • Synthesize technical content into a concise format written for easy absorption and retention. 
  • Ensure written lessons maintain content accuracy and instructional design integrity as provided by the SME and instructional designer.
  • Always be open to learning, adapting, and implementing feedback from the SME and other instructional design team members to ensure the highest level of quality output, to improve content, and to increase skill set.
  • Incorporate best practices for visual design, copywriting, and copy editing.

Other Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • Ability to learn and master Quantic’s in-house writing style and tone (training provided).
  • Collaborate with other instructional design team members to ensure content accuracy, quality, and timeliness of the entire degree program.
  • Assist all team members as needed, including editing lessons and assuming administrative responsibilities. 
  • On occasion, work directly with product leadership and developers to propose improvements to the Quantic suite of products.
  • Consistently meet deadlines.
  • Learn, master, and utilize Quantic’s various technology platforms. 
  • Learn new subject areas on an ongoing basis.
  • Juggle multiple tasks simultaneously and adjust quickly to shifting priorities.
  • Seamlessly and successfully work with a team.
  • Consistently meet deadlines.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in a related field (e.g. Education/English/Writing) OR Bachelors and 2+ years of professional writing experience
  • High proficiency and experience in learning, adapting, and implementing style guides to content writing
  • Creative, fun, upbeat writing style
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • 2+ years using multiple software programs, high level of technology proficiency
  • Detail-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Must have authorization to work in the United States 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience writing educational lessons
  • 1+ years experience with e-learning authoring software
  • Hands-on experience with G Suite, project management software
