Bionews combines purpose, passion, and the ability to work at the epicenter of rare disease information. We not only talk about rare, we are rare. More than 50% of our employees have a rare or chronic disease, bringing our mission to the core of everything we do.
Bionews is looking for an experienced Health Content Editor with some SEO expertise to join our growing Editorial team.
As a health editor for Bionews, you will work on deadline to edit informative, factual, and engaging articles for our audiences of rare disease patients and caregivers. Articles can range from lighter feature stories to more complex research-based resource pages.
The perfect candidate for this role is an excellent editor with a background in health/medical journalism who is sharp and detail-oriented, yet also empathetic, and has good instincts for what makes great content for our audiences. They should be able to edit a wide range of topics and approaches — from condition-based educational content to profiles and first persons — that can help patients and caregivers in their daily lives. They should also be versatile and able to juggle multiple stories in different stages (first draft, second edit, etc.).
This is a full-time remote position reporting to the Content Director. Candidates in the U.S. are preferred, but strong international candidates will be considered. A paid edit test along with editing samples are required as part of the application process.
