Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Scientist to join our GTM Operations team. As a Data Scientist with at least 5-7 years of work experience, you will play a key role in driving data-driven decision-making, developing advanced analytical models, and providing actionable insights to support Anaplan’s aggressive growth targets. You will be comfortable working independently and proactively to coordinate with our internal business teams (customers) and internal data providers to seek clarification and resolution when data provided does not meet the business requirements.

You will work with GTM Operations internal customers such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Finance to translate business insight needs into robust, in-depth analysis and then refine into a repeatable, production-ready capability. You will work with a combined team of Business Systems Architects, Business Systems Analysts and Sales Operations to keep our Go-To-Market programs world-class.

What you will do:

1. Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze large datasets, extract valuable insights, and develop predictive models to support our GTM activities covering sales, marketing, and customer success.

2. Collect, clean, and transform raw data from various sources to ensure data quality and integrity. Perform exploratory data analysis to understand trends, patterns, and relationships that can drive actionable recommendations.

3. Design, build, and deploy predictive models using machine learning algorithms and statistical methodologies. Evaluate model performance and iterate as necessary to improve accuracy and effectiveness.

4. Work closely with GTM cross-functional team to identify and define data requirements, goals, and success criteria and collaborate on the integration of data-driven solutions into existing systems and processes.

5. Communicate insights and findings: Present complex data analysis results and actionable insights in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Effectively communicate the value and implications of data-driven recommendations to drive informed decision-making.

6. Act as a team lead and oversee the work of junior team members across data science and reporting, ensuring timeliness and quality of work output.

What you bring to the table:

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related discipline. A Master’s or Ph.D. in a relevant field is a plus.

2. A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data science, including hands-on experience in statistical analysis, machine learning, and predictive modeling. Previous experience in a similar industry or domain is highly desirable.

3. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar tools for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling. Specifically:

1. Python programming and data manipulation libraries (e.g., Pandas, NumPy).

2. Machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, time series analysis) and libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).

4. Deep understanding of statistical concepts and methodologies, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time series analysis, and clustering.

5. Ability to create compelling visualizations and present data-driven insights using tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

6. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to complex business challenges using data-driven approaches.

7. Proven ability to work collaboratively in a global, cross-functional team environment, including collaborating with stakeholders in a remote capacity. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate and influence others. Preferably, has experience overseeing work product and quality of other people.
