As a Commercial Loan Documentation Supervisor with Banner Bank, you will Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Commercial Loan Documentation Team, including the accurate and timely processing of new loan files and audit of closed files. Provide leadership for staff, including coaching and development. Assist Unit Manager in the establishment and the execution of departmental goals.
In this role you will have the opportunity to:
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and loan documentation function aiming to deliver superior service to clients by driving and optimizing the effectiveness and efficiency of people, processes, and technology. Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, and development to team members, assisting in the resolution of commercial loan documentation issues. Act as a point of contact between Commercial Loan Operations team members and Commercial Banking Centers, modeling professional communication and high service standards.
  • Responsible for interpreting and explaining complex regulatory requirements and Bank policies and procedures to team members and business lines in a professional manner. Ensure team members maintain a current understanding of day-to-day work procedures.
  • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the Bank’s Commercial and Commercial Real Estate loan products, services, and processes.
  • Oversee pipeline review and documentation request distribution. Responsible for providing timely communication to support staff, underwriters, and business lines. Acts as an escalation point for team members to resolve documentation related issues. Collaborate with Unit Manager on development/monitoring of production metrics.
  • Partner with the Unit Manager in the development, implementation, and monitoring of Loan Operations procedures to ensure quality control, exceptional performance standards, and high regulatory and compliance ratings. Assist in the development and maintenance of the department’s standard operating procedures and process guides.
  • Responsible for the integrity of loan documentation. Lead multi-process work teams responsible for the documentation and quality control of commercial and commercial real estate loan documents, including but not limited to, utilizing loan origination systems, LaserPro, and OnBase within internal guidelines and regulatory requirements to ensure that loan documents are processed accurately and within established service level agreements and guidelines.
  • Responsible for participating in required training on pertinent compliance laws and regulations as required by the Bank.
  • Responsible for complying with, and ensuring staff follows, policies, procedures, security requirements, and government regulations.
  • Education & Certifications
  • Associate’s degree: Related field required (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered)
  • Experience
  • 4 or more years of experience in commercial and commercial real estate loan documentation and administration including experience with complex loans required
  • 2 or more years of experience leading a project, process or team required
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Advanced knowledge of commercial, commercial real estate, SBA 7a and 504 loan documentation. A solid understanding of bank regulatory compliance issues, and all areas of Commercial and/or Commercial Real Estate lending servicing policy and procedures. Extensive understanding of title, escrow, and general documentation flow and functions.
  • Ability to lead in a deadline-driven environment with frequent changes in priorities and an unwavering emphasis on customer service, teamwork, and quality/ accuracy. Ability to monitor and realign workflow to ensure all servicing functions are performed in accordance to the established Service Level Agreements and meet customer expectations.
  • Advanced knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to loan documentation.
  • Extensive experience fostering effective relationships with both frontline team members and various business units to support the organization and team’s success.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, and Outlook. Advanced knowledge of LaserPro loan processing software. Knowledge regarding collateral perfection and relative to Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) collateral, real estate, titled vehicles, marine vessels, agriculture, and aircraft security. Experience in working and managing queues within a loan origination workflow preferred.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively. Ability to lead, coach, and mentor a team. Possess strong organizational skills, and the ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail.

  • Targeted starting salary range (based on experience): $73,000-$115,00
