We are seeking a Budget Analyst to work with our government customer to support the Capital Planning & Investment Control (CPIC) tool within the Office of Information and Technology. The Budget Analyst will use the CPIC tool to report to the Department of Veterans Affairs. Work performed supports a critical component of our client’s mission and focuses on solution standards, strategic priorities, and planning requirements. 

The candidate must reside within the continental U.S.

The position is contingent upon successful award of the CPIC contract.

Responsibilities:

  • Proficiency in utilizing the Folio tool.
  • Work cohesively with businesses, Service Delivery, and Architecture & Standards to understand, document, and project cost elements for IT Service Requests. 
  • Analyze and communicate cost implications regarding technology solutions, especially Cloud solutions.
  • Recommend actions to provide the most significant value at the least cost.
  • Track and report budget, costs, and variances.
  • Monitor costs after significant changes in products or processes.
  • Create and manage existing reporting using data from various sources.
  • Provide update to a workload tracking system with appropriate statuses.
  • Perform market research to identify industry changes and improved business practices.
  • Work with cross functional teams from the government customer as well as Mind Computing team members.
  • Review, analyze, and interpret IT planning and development documents from multiple resources.
  • Coordinate and manage project timelines, ensuring all tasks are completed by established deadlines.
  • Strong focus on quality control and attention to detail.
  • Deliver exceptional service with a focus on quality and accuracy to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or technical related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience working with cost analysis and/or Cloud solutions.
  • Experience and understanding of the Agile software development lifecycle.
  • Experience providing business analysis to federal customers.
  • Exceptional written/oral communication skills.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the Federal Government, tools, processes, and frameworks is a plus.
  • Ability to obtain a government clearance.
