Job Description

We are looking for an experienced IT leader to head a capability cluster within our newly established Domain which provides the tools and infrastructure our developers need to build, run, and maintain high-quality software. As Engineering lead, you’ll drive improvements in stability, efficiency, and user satisfaction, while focusing on how modern software engineering practices and integrated platforms enhance developer productivity.

 

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • You will lead a cross-functional IT team and align your strategy with broader IT and business goals.
  • Establish frameworks for success, represent the domain externally, and ensure strong performance and operational stability.
  • Drive change and transformation, fostering a culture of servant leadership and agile practices across teams.
  • Actively engage with developers to understand their needs, gather feedback, and ensure our tools and services are aligned with their workflows, enhancing their productivity and satisfaction.
  • Work closely with distributed teams and other Digital Hubs, enhancing collaboration and performance.
  • Ensure optimized operations and take full responsibility for the development, delivery, and eventual retirement of services and products.
  • Work closely with finance and controlling teams to manage the department’s budget, including forecasting, invoicing, and financial closure.

Qualifications

YOU WILL SUCCEED IF YOU:

Have the following experience:

  • More than 5 years of management experience in IT environments and in leading large teams (>100 FTE)
  • Proven experience leading IT teams, with deep knowledge of modern software engineering practices (e.g. CI/CD, Microservices, APIs, IaC, Cloud-native development).
  • More than 3 years of experience in agile environments, Full SAFe is an advantage
  • Strong background in IT transformations and establishing a learning organization
  • Management skills (budgets, KPIs, skills, etc.)
  • Communication, negotiation & presentation skills on Senior VP-level 
  • Agile Mindset & Caring performance
  • General IT Overview – Advanced
  • Accounting – Basic

You should also have:

  • Ability to provide feedback clearly and in constructive manner  
  • Ability to identify the added value for customer
  • Target orientation          
  • Customer orientation    
  • Openness to multicultural collaboration.

Speak English at least at the B2 level. Speaking German is your advantage.

Salary

Final salary is negotiable.

We are offering base salary depending on seniority level and previous experience of candidate. In addition to base salary we provide variable part and other financial benefits. Base salary will not be lower than 2300€ /brutto.
