Flex Rental Solutions is hiring a Product Development Manager for our growing product team. This role will manage the staff, resources, and processes required to implement the vision and strategy for new product development and product lifecycle management of existing products. This role will incorporate research and concept development projects and capabilities with market analysis, industry intelligence, and customer monitoring to support product roadmaps and innovate new products, enhancements, and redesigns. This role will coordinate with internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, and operations, to ensure that new and existing products meet development targets and support the organization’s financial goals.
You will work as part of an established, yet growing product team that manages our Flex Rental SaaS product. Individual contributions have a great deal of impact for our customers and for the rest of the team. Salary: Depends on Experience Level: 100-110K annually
You are adept at product development. You have spent multiple years as a product manager and you know what it takes to take an idea from conception to market. You know how to work through trade offs with engineers and come up with innovative solutions that balance technical constraints and user needs.
You have a working knowledge of technical skills and disciplines. Specific knowledge of software engineering, UX, testing, and more will be invaluable in the day-to-day of the role.
You excel at team building and have outstanding people skills. In this role, you will manage and lead a product team of two product managers, business analyst, UX designer, and project manager. You will provide guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the team’s success in executing product strategies. This includes but not limited to hiring, 1-1 meetings, continued training etc.
You are a great communicator. Excellent communication skills are critical as you interact with the team. You know how to ask good questions, are a good listener, and know when to speak. You can empathize with others and are able to read non-verbal cues. You know how to use the right communication method for a given context.
You value an agile & iterative culture. At Flex, we aren’t agile by the book. At times, we’ll review the agile manifesto to see how we’re doing against the core ethos of agile. We value quick feedback, collaboration, quick iterations, continuous integration, and shipping software often.
Responsibilities
Hire, retain, train, and empower product team members.
In partnership with company leadership, create and implement product development strategies aligned with the company’s goals and market demand.
Overseeing the entire product lifecycle from ideation to launch, ensuring products meet market needs and remain competitive.
Conduct market & competitor research, analyze trends, and gather customer feedback to identify opportunities for new products or improvements to existing ones.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, sales and customer support to ensure seamless product development processes and successful launches.
Lead & coordinate product development projects, setting timelines, milestones, and priorities, and ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget. Report project status to company leadership.
Identify potential risks and obstacles in product development projects and implement strategies to mitigate them effectively.
Track product performance post-launch, analyzing key metrics such as sales, customer satisfaction, and market share, and making adjustments as necessary to improve product success.
Soft Skills and Other Requirements
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are a must. This role will need to work alongside engineers, marketers, and C-level executives on a daily basis.
Time management and organizational skills. From budgets and roadmaps to customer interview schedules, solid time-keeping and project management capability is essential.
Technical skills are important. Specific knowledge of software engineering, UX, testing, and more will be invaluable in the day-to-day of the role.
JIRA and Confluence knowledge
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.
5+ years of product management experience.
2+ years in a supervisory or people management role
