Job Summary: 

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager who will spearhead the development and management of a dynamic taxonomy toolkit used for categorizing and managing asset information within an e-commerce setting for auction. This role requires a keen understanding of technical product management and the ability to oversee the creation and adaptation of taxonomic tools. The successful candidate will ensure that the taxonomy system aligns with business operations, supporting the accurate categorization and evolution of product data to enhance internal infrastructure and operational efficiency.

What You’ll Do:

  • Develop and manage the taxonomy system to ensure it meets the changing needs of the business and is scalable over time.

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts such as construction equipment specialists to adapt and evolve the taxonomy for accurate product categorization.

  • Design and implement smart interfaces and internal tools, utilizing strong data management skills (e.g., SQL queries) to enhance the taxonomy system.

  • Oversee the creation of dropdown menus and other user interface components to ensure they accurately reflect the current taxonomy and are easy to navigate.

  • Work across various departments to integrate disparate asset management systems into a cohesive structure.

  • Lead zero to one initiatives to build out and refine the architectural and data backbone of the asset management function.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in product management, preferably within an e-commerce or similar technical environment.

  • Strong technical acumen, with the ability to utilize SQL and other data management tools to organize structures and manage complex information.

  • Experience in developing and managing large-scale taxonomies and related tools.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders, including those without technical backgrounds, to gather requirements and deliver solutions.

  • Strong project management skills, with a mentality of ownership and a proven track record of successful project delivery.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, capable of making something complex appear clean and organized through a user-friendly product experience.
