What does the PMO team look like?
Reporting to our Sr Manager, Strategy & Support Project Management Office, you’ll have an understanding of agile development methodologies as well as lean project management principles. The PMO is supported by two additional Project Managers tackling cross-functional and data/analytics projects. You’ll be working closely with several high-performing, collaborative, and technical teams as well as stakeholders within Bench. You’ll be an influencer and a key contributor in driving the success & growth of a data-driven organization supporting entrepreneurs.
What you’ll get up to:
- Serve as a facilitator for the team, guiding and coaching participants on agile principles and practices to improve efficiency of the team
- Coordinate, lead, and facilitate agile-hybrid ceremonies such as stand-ups, backlog grooming, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with agile methodologies, supporting participants in adopting Agile frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal systems “product owners” to build and triage a backlog, supporting them in managing the backlog to ensure that work to be done is refined, prioritized, and ready for sprint planning.
- Proactively identify and resolve obstacles, blockers, risks and issues to ensure the team’s progress remains smooth, and escalate as necessary for timely resolution.
- Manage releases and work with leaders to ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
- Ensure smooth coordination of sprints and uphold governance standards to enhance the team’s consistency between promises and actions (improve the “say/do” ratio).
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with end users prior to release of new features.
- Contribute to the development of Business Operations team ways of working, and collaboration model with other internal business partners. While also working closely with functional leaders to manage expectations, communicate project progress, and gather feedback for continuous improvement.
- Use Jira and Confluence to ensure that work completed by the team is documented and manage the location, access, and awareness of that documentation for various purposes across the business.
- Create and uphold systems of governance and accountability within Business Operations to ensure that our Atlassian (Jira & Confluence) environment is maintained.
