About the role
As the Manager of the Financial Planning team, you will be responsible for the team that supports our self-directed Premium and Generation clients with their financial planning needs.
This is not a traditional financial planning team. We are the first company in Canada to proactively provide financial planning advice to self-directed clients and we are looking for someone with the ability to grow a high performing team that delivers high quality advice, at scale.
Role responsibilities:
Always put the client first.
Lead and grow a team of Certified Financial Planners focused on driving better client outcomes and growth through high quality advice, at scale.
Own your team quota, activity metrics and performance.
Set clear goals and expectations for direct reports and proactively address variations in performance (positive or negative).
Establish strong team rituals that promote a culture of inclusivity, growth, and strong feedback loops.
Effectively coach and develop direct reports to meet their potential through call reviews, financial planning and sales skills, as well as workflow management.
Consistently drive team alignment through clear communication and context.
Leverage data to uncover insights that drive team optimization.
Uncover, assess and communicate problems and blockers, while also being part of the solution.
Work cross functionally to grow the team and bring financial planning advice to all Wealthsimple clients.
Skills you bring:
Must have at least 2 years experience in a management role or 2 years Wealthsimple experience to be considered for this role.
CFP or IQFP designation.
Strong communication by leading with context.
Track record of effective performance management outcomes.
Growth mindset, implements and shares feedback effectively.
Self starter who can identify and own their own initiatives.
Analytical and comfortable uncovering bright spots and opportunities through data.
Comfortable leveraging Salesforce and common financial planning tools.
Passionate about the impact financial planning can have on our client’s lives.
Nice to haves:
Bilingual in French and English.
Additional designations such as TEP.
Experience with Conquest Planning.
